Project: Vilipendia
Year: 2025
Editorial identity project developed for an independent publishing platform, rooted in the metaphor of weaving as a way of narrating, preserving and projecting stories through contemporary visual culture.

Information:
Vilipendia is an editorial identity project rooted in the metaphor of weaving, historically linked to the oral transmission of stories. The name, reinterpreted from the verb vilipendiar (to vilify), reflects the intention to recover what was once disregarded or marginalised, giving it a place within contemporary culture. The proposal takes shape through a visual system built around a hand-embroidered logotype, typefaces inspired by historical references, and a sensitive chromatic code, creating a universe that merges craft with editorial precision.

The project development includes a reference manual, stationery, merchandising and digital presence, conceived as platforms for narrating and amplifying new voices. The project also offers a reflection on the role of graphic design in shaping cultural identity and on its capacity to foster community within independent publishing. From this standpoint, Vilipendia explores how the act of weaving can continue to function as a metaphor for telling, preserving and projecting stories into the present.
